1. Construction Project Engineer (Honolulu Office)

SE is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to assist with project management on project sites and in the home office.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain all sets of drawings, specifications and logs
  • Assist with updating and maintaining master CPM schedule
  • Evaluate field problems and document RFI’s
  • Review, evaluate, and transmit submittals
  • Report quantities in place and maintain labor cost report
  • Assemble change order submittals
  • Maintain progress photo album
  • Compile contract close out documents (O&M manuals, as builts, etc.)
  • Document punch list work
  • Attend and document project meetings

Required Qualifications/Abilities:

  • Ability to read and understand plans and specifications
  • Effective written and verbal language communication skills
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

Desired Qualifications/Abilities

  • Drafting and computer drafting skills
  • Construction field experience
  • Critical path method scheduling experience and use of associated software applications
  • Experience with crane operations, rigging and commercial diving operations
  • Experience with Hawaiian waters and port operations

Education and Experience (minimum & preferred):

  • BS degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) certificate preferred
  • OSHA 30 hour preferred

 Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50lbs

Annual Compensation: $60,000 – $95,000 depending on experience

 

2. Engineer-Diver (Santa Cruz, CA Office)

Sea Engineering, Inc is seeking a motivated Engineer-Diver to join our California office.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Below and above-water inspections of waterfront and marine structures and bridges
  • Development of inspection reports
  • Analysis, design, and creation of construction and regulatory permitting documents for repair, rehabilitation, and construction of coastal, marine, and waterfront structures
  • Use of AutoCAD and other job-related computer software programs
  • Communication with clients, subcontractors, fellow SE employees, and others for job-related activities
  • Other engineering tasks related to Sea Engineering projects
  • Operation of SE forklifts and trucks
  • Work with Sea Engineering, Inc. divers and engineers at locations in California, Hawaii, and elsewhere as required
  • Assistance with maintenance and testing of Sea Engineering, Inc. diving and other job-related equipment
  • Other field and office tasks as required

Required Qualifications/Abilities:

  • Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineer
  • ADCI commercial diver

Desired Qualifications/Abilities:

  • NHI UW Bridge Inspector

Education and Experience:

  • BS in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • 0-2 years of experience in waterfront/marine underwater inspection

 Physical Requirements:

  • Have current dive physical or able to pass an ADCI physical dive exam
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs

Compensation:

$40.86 – $50.48 an hour OR This role’s base pay range is between $85,000 – $105,000 annually depending on experience.
