Customer: Tesoro

City/Town: Barbers Point, Hawaii, United States

Sea Engineering regularly performs inspection, maintenance and repair work on Tesoro's single point mooring buoy located in 110 feet of water approximately one mile off shore from the Barbers Point refining facility. Non-destructive testing (NDT) and inspection techniques such as visual inspection and ultrasonic testing (UT) are used to identify defects and plan for repair and maintenance to ensure safe and effective operation. In the course of performing this work Sea Engineering has either repaired or removed and replaced the entire buoy assembly and smaller components including butterfly valves, flexible marine hoses, jumper hoses, and hard pipe jumpers.  Skills required to complete work include wet welding, underwater burning, and heavy rigging operations.
